Local Radio Day is back!

Local Radio Day 2024 is on Friday 8th November!

This year the theme is Building Bridges. Radio is a powerful medium with the ability to bring people together. It connects its listeners to local news, events and acts as a platform for community groups.

No need to sign up this year, as the team are taking a well-earned break. This means we don’t have a refreshed resource pack for you this year, but we hope you celebrate the day anyway and you are very welcome to use these assets.

LOCAL RADIO DAY 2024 ASSETS

Celebrate the day however you like. Here are a few ideas:

  • Post on social media, tag us on Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn. We’ve snuck a cheeky celebration image into the 2024 asset pack.
  • Build a bridge by sharing information about different groups in your community, like your local chess club, kayaking team or neighbourhood association so your listeners can learn more.
  • ‘Building bridges: Connecting Generations’ – a special show or segment where different generations to come together to discuss traditions, values and experiences.
  • Invite listeners to share poetry or short stories. The theme: Building Bridges. Read entries on air or post the best ones on social media.
