We’ve moved! Local Radio Day is now October 2020

Local Radio Day. The 2020 theme is Communities making waves: turning the tide on isolation.

We are thrilled to announce that Local Radio Day 2020 will be taking place on Monday 12th October.

After receiving feedback from the local radio stations joining us each year, we have decided to move the annual event to October. We hope that you will join us in celebrating on the 12th. Please continue to share your thoughts with us so that we can make the day even better every year. Visit our contact us page for our number, email address and social media handles. We are a volunteer team so please forgive any delay in response.

This year, ‘Communities making waves: turning the tide on isolation’ will be our theme.

Collectively we will explore how local radio has encouraged greater connections in communities across the nation. As well as showcase the individuals and organisations really pushing the boat out to help others. The need to unite during isolation and join supportive networks has really highlighted just how important radio is. Radio is there both for reliable information and as a source of great entertainment. Local radio has been crucial for many in 2020. Whether through local news, stories of triumph over adversity, or simply bringing us a familiar, comforting voice,

There are loads of ways you can support and celebrate this year. Tune in to your local radio station, share your stories, get your friends on board, and get involved on social media. This year has been challenging, to say the least, and we want to focus on the positivity that has shone through even the darkest of times. Let us know – what has local radio done for you and how has it helped you through?

Use #LocalRadioDay to join the conversation on Twitter and brighten our feeds with how you plan to join this year. Our participation page holds some inspiration from stations across the nation. We can’t wait to see what you do!
